BOXES
I created this sculpture with "thinking outside the box" in mind.
Everyone considers such thinking a gift that only few people have. I believe
anyone can think outside the box if they stop limiting their thoughts to the stereotypes
of society. Everyone has their own view of things, or at least the views they have been
educated or indoctrinated into. Thinking outside the box is merely looking at things
from a new perspective. Therefore, are we really thinking outside the box, or just
creating a box of our own design and understanding?
This piece is my interpretation of getting out of the mainstream boxes and creating
our own boxes. As you can see, it evolved into one simple box that is symmetrical and
comprehensible. It took a lot of work to come to that conclusion.
